This morning I read that this darling boy, Hunter, has officially “aged out” of the adoption system in his country. That means that he is now too old to be adopted internationally, and that unless a local family rises up to care for him, he will never know the love of a family.
My heart broke! Hunter begged for a family and no one stepped forward to give him an opportunity to belong and a chance to know what it feels like to be part of a family. No one rose up to care for him.
I ache for these older children. Some days heaven sounds so wonderful and I cannot help but long for what awaits us on that day when every tear will be wiped away and there will be no more sorrow or pain. I simply can’t imagine the heartache and rejection that these sweet teenagers go through when they are told, “Sorry, no one is coming for you.” I put my own teenagers in their position and it brings tears to my eyes to even consider how their hearts must hurt.
I cannot imagine the pain of being rejected again.
When I saw the news of Hunter this morning, I could not help but think about all the others who still wait–older children, medically fragile children, younger children–they ALL need someone to come for them. Many of you have reached out recently and asked me to advocate, and I’m so sorry that I haven’t been able to keep on top of that in this busy season of my life.
Today I thought I would put up a linky to try and help in some small way…because I am absolutely heartbroken that one boy fell through the cracks.
If you know of a child who URGENTLY needs a family, would you please link them below. All you need is a photo and a link to where they are listed. You will be given a space to write a caption. Please use that to state where they are (if you are allowed to) and why they need to be rescued ASAP. Thank you, friends. Only urgent situations please!
I know we cannot save them all, but we certainly can do everything we possibly can to ensure that as many as possible find their way into loving families. Please share this list, and lets pray each and every child HOME.
Thank you, body of Christ.
