he has my heart…completely

Some days I look back and ponder all that God has done in our lives over the last few years.

Looking back allows us to SEE the Father’s faithfulness.

Looking back brings me to my knees in absolute thankfulness…

…and gratefulness.

Thankful that when He spoke, when He called us by name and told us to take the road less traveled…we heard…even though we were so slow to get it.

Because this little boy…

Sorry about the blurry pictures snapped with my phone.  They simply tell a beautiful love story about one little boy’s delight in his family.

Oh my goodness!

We sat on the fence for weeks.

Should we?

Can we even?

What if?  What if?  What if?

We found a hundred [very selfish] reasons why it would be so crazy to bring home another child when we were already adopting a very medically fragile little darling.

Especially one who called a mental asylum his home.

A place where only the fittest survive and children are unimaginably hurt by those who are meant to care for them.

I look at Kael now and I cannot help but get all teary.

This boy is a GIFT from heaven.

He loves!  Gracious, does he LOVE madly!

He may not be able to walk or chew solid food yet (due to severe institutional delays), but Kael has come so far in one year.

We wondered, “Will he be able to attach to people after living in those horrendous conditions?”

He absolutely cannot get enough of being held and cuddled.  On a lap is where you will find him.  Always!

Only GOD can take a broken heart and breathe new life, healing, and wholeness into those places that hurt.

He just fits in.

Perfectly.

As only the LORD can do it.

I am so thankful that when God said, “Jump!”…

…we did.

Because this boy is one of the greatest, most amazing treasures He could ever have given us.

Happy one year home, precious boy.  How we love and treasure you!
