I will give you a new name

“I will give you a new name.”  Revelation 2:17

What’s in a name?

Names are very important in our family.  We have always prayerfully sought the LORD on what HE has named our children (before the creation of the universe!).  We believe that the meaning of names is so important.

The first time I saw pictures of “Faith,” I felt so strongly in my heart that God had already given this treasure a NEW name (“Faith” was the name given to us when we told about her because we are not permitted to publicize her Bulgarian name).  As soon as God whispered to our hearts that she was our daughter, I knew that she would have a name like no other in our family.

Hebrew! God had given her a Hebrew name.

What a joy, a delight, and an absolute honor it is to introduce you to our precious new daughter.  One who has been a given a beautiful new name.

Hasya Salem

Isn’t she just so beautiful?

A child with infinite worth.

A treasure who is NOT forsaken.

A life that MATTERS!

The Father has named her perfectly.

“Hasya” means to “have mercy” or “take refuge.”  The Scripture associated with her name comes from the book of Psalms–it is so absolutely PERFECT for our sweet Hasya.  A promise of protection, of rescue, and of redemption!

Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy!
I look to you for protection.
I will hide beneath the shadow of your wings
until the danger passes by.
I cry out to God Most High,
to God who will fulfill his purpose for me.
He will send help from heaven to rescue me,
disgracing those who hound me.
My God will send forth his unfailing love and faithfulness.

~Psalm 57:1-3

We are crazy in love.  Thank you for journeying with my family as we follow the Lord Jesus Christ with everything in us.

Only by His grace.
