life

Anthony and I are so grateful for so many of you who are praying for our snowflake baby. Today is Day Four post transfer.  Whew!  It’s been crazy emotional.  As my body deals with the effects of increased progesterone, the only thing I’m really feeling is a lot more emotion and I’m extremely fatigued.

There is something so very special about knowing that there is the tiniest of God’s human creation inside of my womb who is fighting hard to have life right this minute.  Every day that I have this gift from heaven as a part of me is a joy to my heart–whether it’s for nine months or just a few short days.  My peace lies in the absolute truth that the Author of Life already knows. I trust His sovereignty. The book of Hebrews says that faith is “being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”  I’m learning that.  Slowly.

I arrived home to my kids’ first colds of the season.  Thankfully, just colds. No miserable croup for Harper. For that we are so thankful!

So much happening in our lives right now. It’s all very exciting and we feel so blessed that we’re right in the centre of His will.  It’s a good place to be.

After a few obstacles and fiery darts from the enemy, our airfares are booked, and we arrive back in Africa at the end of May!  Truthfully, we cannot wait!  We are so excited to go and do what He has prepared our hearts to do for the last eight years.  We absolutely cannot wait to see the doors that He will open and the precious children He will bring into our lives.  I have recently been in contact with a few people who work in orphanages around South Africa. The cry of their hearts is the same as ours, “Where are the children who have special needs?!”

For such a time as this, Lord Jesus!  Grow us.  Strengthen us.  Call us deeper.  Call us higher. Use us however You need us!

We have so much to do in the next four months.  We covet your prayers as we trust God to work out every detail and provide for every need we have.  No words can express how thankful we are for those of you who have already partnered with us.  THANK YOU for being a part of the team who sends us back out into the nations.  Thank you for believing in the God IN US.

It is ONLY because of who He is that we can move forward in faith–trusting that He will meet us on the other side and that His glory will shine brightly.

Him in us!

“Christ in us, the hope of glory.”  ~~  Colossians 1:27

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone. Thank you for your love, your prayers, and for choosing to journey with the Salems.  I will absolutely keep you updated on our tiniest lovie and how things unfold in the next few days. We are so grateful for your prayers.
