muddy-licious

Our big kids had the best time last weekend.

Every year our city hosts a very muddy fun-for-all event.

When friends asked our kids if they would like to join them this year, the answer was a resounding, “Yes!”

Any opportunity for a kid to get dirty on purpose is absolutely delightful.

After doing an obstacle course, they were required to make their way through the ginormous mud puddle before crossing the finish line.

Like, seriously muddy!

The best fun!

Connor won the race for his age group.

Boys will be boys.

Muddy buddies.

The great big hose down.

Which was colder than the mud puddle.

After my littlest guy finished the race I asked him what he thought about it…

“Mom, it was SO, SO VERY muddy!”

I can eat him up…even when he’s filthy dirty.

Letting kids just be kids.  They grow up way too quickly.

Also, I wanted to share a few urgent needs with you all.

My friend, Lorraine, has some big things happening on her blog this month.  She is holding a huge blitz in honor of her precious daughter, Chrissie, who was taken to heaven one year ago.  Many of us followed their journey as they released Chrissie into the arms of Jesus.  Lorraine is trying to raise funds for a beautiful girl named Taylor.  Sweet Taylor is trying to get to Israel where she will offer the hope of Jesus to children (and their families) going through open-heart surgery.  Taylor will not be able to go on this medical mission trip unless she raises $3,168 by May 6!  Let’s help her get there!

The wonderful Ferrone family is traveling to Eastern Europe in just a few day and urgently need the remaining funds. They are adopting two of the sweetest little angel girls. Please prayerfully consider helping.

Angie and her family have been matched with a baby here in the USA.  They are working so hard to get the funds together, but it has been an uphill battle from day one.  Their baby is being born sooner than expected and they are trusting the Lord for everything they need to complete the adoption.

If anyone else needs help urgently, please just leave a comment with the details and a blog address so that readers can be directed to the family/child.  Thanks!
