our wild child

I think there must be one in every family.  The kid whom you envision will someday be your bungee jumper, your skydiver, or your extreme sport enthusiast.  The crazy kid who thrives on adrenaline-pumping, thrill-seeking fun. You know the type.  The one who makes you close your eyes when they whiz down the steepest (must be the steepest!) sledding hill at a hundred miles an hour.

We have one of those in our family.  And it’s probably the last person anyone expects to be our wild child.

She may be an itty bitty little love. Weighing in at 23 pounds, our six-year-old sure is a wee one.  She’s just as sweet as can be.

Delicate.  Fragile.  Dainty.

Ummm….NOT!

Hailee’s our wild child.  She’s our crazy, adrenaline-loving babe.

The crazier we play with her, the more she loves it.  Oh my…is she tough!  Friends tell us all the time that Hailee is the toughest little girl they have ever met.

Rough and tumble, flips in the air, romping on the grass…

She totally LOVES it!

Hailee absolutely cannot get enough of energetic play time.  She’ll turn any sitting human into a jungle gym.  She sure does a great job at getting her point across….”Play with me now!”

The wilder, the better.

The crazier the play, the harder she giggles.  She laughs until she literally cannot laugh any more.

It’s sweet music to our ears.

Yup, don’t be fooled by her size.

This little lovie is making up for lost years.  She making up for all the years the locust stole.

BIG TIME.

She’s soaking in all the play she can get.  And she sure is loving every minute of it.  Life’s a blast!  Play is definitely Hailee’s love language.

Thankfully for her, there are many arms just waiting to pick her up and play with her throughout the day.

What a priceless treasure the Father blessed our family with.  I cannot even begin to tell you how much joy this girl brings our family.

She’s just so, so much fun.

Who would ever have thought?  Certainly not me.

Only God!
