Okay, lovely friends.

There are times when I just have absolutely NO IDEA how things are going to turn out.   Last Friday I made an appeal for families who are in a financial crunch and need finances urgently in order to complete their adoptions.  I honestly thought I would get a handful of e-mails and would be able to write up one post with the information I received.  Not!

Oh my!  How wrong I was!  I cannot even tell you how many e-mails I have received. My inbox got flooded.

So I lay in bed at some crazy hour last night thinking about what I could do to try and help out.  The need is overwhelming, and I am just one mommy with a blog.  I obviously cannot help each and every family individually.  If I did, that is all I would ever do, and that is not the sole purpose of my blog.  It’s a balance I struggle to find at times. I most definitely do not have some kind of “gift” when it comes to raising money. Each time I have raised funds here, it really has been a work of the Father, not of me.  I long, with all my heart, to help as many as possible raise the funds they so desperately require.  But how do I do that with the limited time that I have?

So I lay there trying to figure out what to do.  At first I thought I would only pick the most urgent of situations–but instantly I felt afwul that it would exclude a lot of other families who are also needing a helping hand. Then I thought I would commit this entire week just to fundraising families on my blog–but that didn’t feel like a good solution either.  So I got up early this morning and asked God to show me a better way to try and help out.

I think I’ve found it.

For the first time here on my blog I am going to use a Linky Tool.  I’m hoping that this will give families an opportunity to link in, share a photo, their blog, the child they’re adopting, and a brief description of their financial need and perhaps any giveaways they currently have happening.

This is the best idea I can come up with right now, so I’m going to give it a try and see how this goes. Like I said, this is the first time I am using the Linky Tools, so I have no idea what to expect. The goal is to have one page where everyone can come and share their needs.  It will give readers an opportunity to click on a family’s blog and make contributions as they feel led by the Lord.

Here are the details…

1.)  If you are a fundraising family, please add a photo, a link to your blog (can even be a specific blog post that gives details about your current needs), and a description.  Be specific about your situation in the space below your thumbnail so that readers know exactly what your needs are. Please make sure that you have a place on your blog where donations can be made.

2.)  If you are a reader with a heart to help these amazing families…..please spread the word about them to anyone you know and on all social networks you are part of.  Link to this page so that others can come and sow seed into these adoptions as God leads them.

3.)  If you are one of the many families who have already e-mailed me, you will have to add your details here yourself.

4.)  Please spread the word to other adoptive families so that they too can come and add their details.

5.)  The only thing I ask is that only families who are in a dire financial crunch add their details at this time.  Depending on how this goes, I will do another Linky in the future for other families adopting.

One thing I am sure of is that the people who read my blog are some of the most generous people I have ever known.  Seriously.  I am so thankful for everyone’s help with this little project to try and get word out about families in dire need of finances to adopt a child.  I know how hard it can be.  I know how tiring fundraising efforts can become.  You reach a point where you just want to reach the end and have your child in your arms.  The journey can become so very discouraging sometimes.

There is one thing I am fully convinced of–it may take a village to raise a child, but God starts with one family.  He calls one family at a time to rescue the neediest children around the globe and bring them home where they can be embraced and loved by many.  But those families need us, the body of Christ, to come alongside them and help them to raise the ransom!  It really is that “true religion” thing that the book of James cammands us to do.

Would you please consider helping out in the days to come?  Even if you cannot sow financially, please pray that God would open the floodgates of heaven for these amazing families.  If you are never called to adopt a child, you can still play such an important role in the lives of children coming into other families.  It’s a beautiful thing when we come together as one to help when there is a need.

Let’s help each and every one of these children to have a new name, an identity, a purpose, a dream, and a chance to become all that God has destined them to be in this life.

Because everybody needs to be somebody!
